Remove what is not needed and separate necessary from unnecessary items.
2 · Set in Order
Give necessary items clear locations based on frequency of use and flow.
3 · Shine
Clean while inspecting for damage, wear, missing items and abnormal conditions.
4 · Standardize
Use labels, visual controls, reset rules and simple standards to maintain the condition.
5 · Sustain
Use ownership, routine audits, reinforcement and correction to make 5S normal practice.
