Remember
Retrieve relevant facts, terms, rules or information. Useful when accurate recall is genuinely part of required performance. Typical evidence includes identifying, listing or recalling.
Understand
Explain meaning, interpret information or summarise a concept. Evidence should show comprehension rather than simple recognition.
Apply
Use a rule, method or procedure in a task or situation. Evidence should require learners to perform with the method, not merely describe it.
Analyze
Break information into parts, distinguish relationships, diagnose causes or examine patterns. Evidence should require analysis of meaningful information.
Evaluate
Make and justify a judgement against criteria. Evidence should require defensible selection, critique, prioritisation or recommendation.
Create
Generate, design or produce a coherent new solution or output from relevant requirements. Evidence should require construction, integration or original design.
The correct objective is not automatically the highest cognitive level. Select the level the learner must actually demonstrate, then gather evidence at that level.
