synopsis
Project Management Audits is a four-day, integrated, case-study-based class. It discusses the why, when, what, and how of project management audits. It compares and contrasts audits with monitoring and controlling processes, internal and external customer reviews, and financial audits.
This course discusses guidelines for selecting a qualified auditor, a structured format for preparing, performing, and reporting an audit. Participants will be able to apply generally recognized good practices for performing project management audits. They will examine a project to determine the actual work status-completed and its conformance with the project scope, including schedule and budget constraints. They will use inference or extrapolation to provide insight into the work needed to meet project objectives and the project schedule and budget adequacy. A project management audit can illuminate mistakes that can cause project failure and trigger timely corrective action. This course is aligned with the latest version of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge® (PMI® Guide to the PMBOK®).
